This game is a lot more straightforward and linear than people think. All the problems of the first game were addressed, and none of them exist here. Navigation may still be a little confusing, but if you pay attention to the environment assets, the sound, music, and even some of the aliens, you will find this game is a lot easier to explore than other people will tell you. Everything is distinct if you carefully examine your visual and audio cues. Temples have a dedicated song. New caverns may look the same as others, but they will have different aliens inside them. You can crawl down the Omega Metroid's throat and plant bombs in its stomach. :D

I feel like my score won't be fair since the game might be dated by todays standards. I enjoyed my time with it, but a large part was because I followed a map I found online. Yes, this game has no in-game map. Thusly, it's easy to get lost and forget where you were. I played on the nintendo switch NSO collection with the game boy color version, and areas STILL felt the same. I can recommend this game, but only if you look up a map to track your progress. The map I looked up also told me where every item was, so that's how I was able to 100% this 🤣

Definitely a step up from the first game, the story's been a bit more fleshed out and Samus is on the hunt for metroids. I had a much better time with this game than I did with the first. It's was much easier to navigate for me and I loved the addition of all new tools for Samus. The Spider Ball was a bit wonky though and felt like it had a mind of it's own. Overall a good entry into the series but still feels very dated.

Хороший Метроид, хотя и черно-белый. Но есть фанатский цветной патч с которым и проходил.

2 streams - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqZXgW7Io3Avv1fDnGTUuD9ispbQUMawM It's impressive what they managed to pull off on the Gameboy. The developers knew their limitations and worked within them to deliver a claustrophobic and eerie alien world where you play a questionable role in wiping out an entire species. Though it's aged and not the best version of this story to play nowadays, it still stands as a testament to creative minds making the most of the tools at their disposal.
