Donkey Kong Land 2 is the first sequel to Donkey Kong Land for the Nintendo Game Boy and was released in 1996. The story mainly complies to its SNES counterpart; K. Rool kidnapped Donkey Kong, demanding the entire Banana Hoard as ransom, so it's up to Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong to rescue their kidnapped pal. A wild assortment of friendly animals like Rambi the Rhino, Squitter the Spider, Squawks the Parrot, Rattly the Rattlesnake and Enguarde the Swordfish help the two little monkeys in their adventurous mission. Each exciting level is filled with special traps, hidden items and dastardly Kremlings! Prepare yourself for the biggest Game Boy adventure yet!

I loved the first Donkey Kong Land on the Game Boy. It was different from the SNES game, and even had its own plot to boot. I never owned its sequel games, but a brief look at them led me to believe they would be EXACT copies of DKC 2 and 3 respectively. I can gladly say that's not the case......entirely. Level titles are similar, but the levels are kinda condensed versions of them. Certain levels also have different songs to them than their SNES counterparts. As crazy as it sounds, I kinda liked that. Made them stand out a bit more in trying to do its own thing instead of replicating a more powerful console. I respect the effort Rare put into this
