Such a fan of the film and it was so much fun playing around in that world
For playing this for the first time. It was a lot of fun. Bit of a piss easy last boss but overall a really good time.

Minus a glitch making it so I can't obtain the Platinum Trophy, fan-fukkn-tastic.

The Thing Remastered is a faithful remaster of the 2002 original, however, it may have been too faithful. Though the game runs VERY well on modern systems and looks a lot better with the upscaled textures, the gameplay is exactly the same and that's where it falls apart. NPC pathing is awful, standard enemies and bosses are trivial, and the amount of bugs I found in my playthrough were very frustrating.
Gameplay is very much a standard 3rd person shooter with light squad control when it comes to teammates. Visuals look much better than the original PS2 release, though they aren't the best. The story is very generic and honestly not worth paying attention to. Soundtrack is the same as the movie, which isn't bad, but I would have loved to hear some original tracks.
Overall, The Thing Remastered is a okay remaster at best. Worth trying, but don't be surprised if you become frustrated with its bugs.
A game where Blake doesn't care about his mission or his friends but it works out anyway. An escort simulator with aliens. I had fun. 😅
