𝗪𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡💉.. Even in the demo, the game looked a bit raw to me, and I certainly didn't expect a release in just a couple of months. Visually, it looks like a generic boring Unreal Engine game, lack of advanced lighting to make the image look more lively and less plasticky; the interface, also made of simple 2D images, doesn't allow for a quick understanding of what's happening. Mechanically, the shots feel very sluggish, which is forgivable, since the slow leisure pace of the game only adds depth and hardcore to the survival-horror genre, especially since the local Silent Hill-style mannequins, walking unnaturally, literally give up their legs, heads, or arms when hit by a bullet, like in another cult game, Dead Space.. The most important innovation here is the loading of weapons with our own blood, literally the limit is tied to our health bar, and in addition to the classic syringes, you can replenish your HEALTHAMMO supply from the corpses of rats, birds, cows, and people scattered around the level.. And just look at the stylish KNIFE SHARPENING! On special ancient bicycle sharpeners! 🚲 People from Soviet times might remember a similar knife sharpening on motorcycles :) Overall, the arsenal is diverse, and they even managed to squeeze in a sniper rifle, and all this in a fairly fresh setting of a Spanish plague island. And it all sounds great "on paper" and in the review, but in reality, the enemies are too repetitive, the game quickly loses interest, and that indescribable magic of survival horror, where you yourself are ready to backtrack for hours combing the same locations, doesn't work.. I don't know why, but for me, the game remains a concept and doesn't coalesce into something coherent that I would like to continue. Well, they just couldn't create an atmosphere. And the constant stealth zones with giant bosses, where you need to turn a valve at the right time, are even more annoying, coupled with classic puzzles and key hunts. Like in "Residnt" there's even a hub with one-button circus minigames and a skill shop; There are tons of secret collectibles, and the lore is quite rich, even with 2D cartoons. Keep in mind that the prologue alone takes 40 minutes, and the entire game will take you at least 10 HOURS! But all this seems to overwhelm a small indie project. The stylized "bloody" animations lack the beauty that was in the 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐧 game; even a PS1 clone like 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 would be much more enjoyable in terms of gameplay, as the atmosphere works in tandem with the gameplay. It feels like B𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞, was in a rush to establish itself in the video game arena, inflating the creators' ambitions, which they failed to fulfill. But the price is reasonable. If you're a fan of the genre, you should definitely give it a try.
