The House of the Dead: Remake is a remade version of the game introduced in 1997 in arcade platform. A classic arcade rail-shooter receives a whole new entourage and gameplay changes to suit modern gaming standards.

Visuals are messed up, it lacks any style of the OGs, the gameplay is still there, so 2.5 stars here, but as a remake it is atrocious, and I wish there was a remaster instead.
Sympa, surtout avec son fils, mais c'Γ©tait bien plus prΓ©cis sur Saturn !

It's pretty cool to see this game remade on PC! I've beaten the campaign a couple times, and it's pretty fun for quick gameplay. It just feels.. A little lacking imo? Sure there's some things to go for to challenge yourself which gets some more gameplay out of it, but it gets stale.
RE........ RELOAD
Not a very good remake.

Pretty fun remake of the classic game. Even got all the achievements from it.
7,3/10
It's a 40 minute arcade game that you can complete 4 times with 4 different friends!)
Remake pros:
+ "Remote Play" function + Support for playing together on 1 keyboard / mouse.
+ Good dismemberment (you can shoot at the bodies, even after the death of the monster).
+ Ability to skip cutscenes.
+ Achievements.
Minuses:
- Poor overall visual style, looks like some kind of mobile phone, average monsters design.
- Terrible interface.
- Not the best graphics.
- New mode useless.
- No normal support for light guns.
- YET: HORRIBLE OPTIMIZATION, constant drops up to 10 fps on gtx 1650.
But the game is still great, it`s completing in one breath, the locations are normal, there are many secret passages, although there are not enough alternative guns, they seem to be there, but I didnβt find any. We are waiting for a remake of the second part, but, preferably, from another studio. For me, the leader in the genre of "rail shooter" on the PC platform is still "Blue Estate".

Remade, remastered, re-dead! This modern classic comes home with no coins and is all fun. Would have been an instant 5 stars, but horrible gyro aiming does detract from the action. You put this aside and you or another friend will experience the classic arcade days from the comfort of your own home!
Fun but short game. Great to play to kill some time in between doing other things and obviously better with another player. Only did one playthrough as of this review but there is clear replayability in the attempt to keep all the scientists alive. Will definitely come back to this to save them all at some point.
