Yakuza 0 on Switch 2 isnβt just a great game β itβs a time capsule. Set in 1988 Japan, it gives off the same energy GTA: Vice City does, just through a different culture.
Neon lights everywhere, flashy suits, money flying, and music that screams late β80s. Walking through Kamurocho at night feels like cruising through Vice City with the radio blasting β the city itself is the main character.
Like Vice City, the game is obsessed with excess, ambition, and style, but instead of a sandbox, Yakuza 0 keeps things focused and dense. The combat is tight, the story is dramatic, and the side content is wild in the best way.
The Directorβs Cut doesnβt reinvent the game, but having this experience portable and polished on Switch 2 is a big win.
Final take:
If Vice City is the ultimate 80s Miami fantasy, Yakuza 0 is the ultimate 1988 Japan fantasy. Different gameplay, same legendary vibe.
