Two larger-than-life heroes, Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu are brought together by the hand of fate, or perhaps something more sinister… Live it up in Japan and explore all that Hawaii has to offer in an RPG adventure so big it spans the Pacific. Like a Dragon 8 is the next installment in the Yakuza series that will feature Ichiban and Kiryu as dual protagonists.

Another JRPG game in the series, and again I did not enjoy it. They did make some changes to combat to speed things up which i did appreciate but overall don't enjoy the turn based party combat.
The story was okay, but not great. Lots of holes in the logic of why things were happening and character choices that seemed not right for them.
The platinum was on par with the other games in the series.

Kiryu (old) and Kasuga's (new) stories fight for screen time, Kiryu's should've been kept in Yakuza: Gaiden
Customization is locked with unreasonably
Repetitive, boring major mini-games - placing random things and waiting IRL
Pokemon minigame is way too simple, slow, and has an ugly UI
A ton of plot holes, like trying to save a useless character for 10 chapters
The antagonist is way too smart
Daidoji is a f*cking joke - only appearing to claim the spoils
A bit grindy
Most substories are just 1min cameos
Decent music, especially ATLUS Persona soundtracks
Decent variety
Great message about cancel culture

+Storia interessante e ben narrata…
-…ma comunque un po’ meno di impatto rispetto a Like a Dragon
-Colpi di scena simili a quelli del gioco precedente
-Certe parti un po’ troppo allungate che creano qualche problema di ritmo alla campagna
jogo foda
10/10 would play Pokémon and Animal Crossing on Hawaii again

Es una obra maestra que mezcla humor absurdo, combates épicos y giros narrativos que te dejan con la boca abierta. Es como un cóctel explosivo que solo la saga Yakuza puede servir, pero esta vez con más caos y humo negro del que esperabas. ¡Simplemente espectacular!

The game left me with very mixed feelings. On one hand, it’s still a really good Yakuza game, with a strong story and all the things you’d expect. But it feels like the developers originally wanted this game to be centered around Kiryu’s story. Then, at some point, they decided they couldn’t remove Kasuga, so they had to add something for him as well.
Because of that, the first part of the game is really strong: Kasuga is the main character, Kiryu supports him, the party explores Hawaii, and everything feels great. But later the story splits, and while Kiryu’s part is genuinely good, Kasuga’s story starts to feel like just moving from point A to point B, fighting enemies along the way. That part really wasn’t that enjoyable. This is why I have mixed feelings about the main story. It feels weaker than it should be, with repetitive motifs and story beats that strongly resemble earlier Yakuza / Like a Dragon titles. Because of that, I’m taking two points off the score for the main story alone. I’m also taking one more point off because of one side character’s storyline and how poorly it was concluded. It felt like the developers had no clear idea how to end it, resulting in a kind of plot abomination. Not only me, but even people in chat had no idea what actually happened or why - it just happened.
That said, the game is still good overall. The music is great, the battle system is improved, and the minigames are excellent. Overall score: 7/10.
