This game definitely took me way longer to beat than the previous ones. I tried playing this previously and I couldn't get into the battle system. Going from Arise to Symphonia was definitely a challenge I couldn't overcome. Then I started doing the marathon and played it after the previous Tales games and I understood the battle system better. It may look like the 3D fighting style of the recent games but it still functions like the previous 2D styles. Forward, backwards and attacking. The puzzles are not difficult except in one dungeon that was annoying but that was it. The story was amazing! So many twists and turns... some of it was predictable but it was rare. The graphics were nice and it felt weird seeing cell shading only on the characters. Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, just something to note. The intro music is such a banger, also the SECOND intro song was just as good! Unfortunately, that's where the music stops for me... nothing stood out for me but it doesn't mean that there aren't any hidden gems in there. I highly recommend playing this one for the story!

Beautiful game. I loved the characters and story. I wasn't a real fan of the dungeons in the game though...a lot of them felt a bit redundant but I powered through them because the story was worth it.
