Planet Alcatraz is a 3D role playing game with isometric projection. The player travels through the game world and fights against enemies in the real-time mode.Several genres are mixed in this game but despite that fact it isn't stuck between them and appears to be a classical RPG that is based on a specially developed system.

In general, I got acquainted with the genre of role-playing games thanks to Planet Alcatraz (Dungeon orderlies). It was a hard time for me. When I was very young, I did not understand this genre at all. I was then, and still am, a fan of shooters. What do we do in shooters? Just go and destroy opponents on your way. The first time I touched the role-playing game, I was in a stupor. Why a top view game? Is it really that convenient? How to play this? What are skill points? What is progress? This is just as an example. That is, I had a lot of questions, and I did not always find answers to questions.
Thus, with the force passing Planet Alcatraz, I began to understand something and the genre of the game itself. And just the same, thanks to Planet Alcatraz, I not only really fell in love with the genre, but simply treated it with respect. Yes, there are RPG fans and I kind of understood why they like this genre.
And now about Planet Alcatraz, a la Orderlies of the dungeons. Damn it, this is the game of my youth. It attracted me with its non-linearity, lively open world and sparkling humor. Indeed, it was interesting for me to observe all this environment that was happening in the game. Even though the game has a mediocre technical component, this did not interfere with enjoying the game. Interesting and funny cut-scenes. Although the dialogues here are not voiced, but are made in text format, it was also interesting to read them. After all, every choice has its consequences. I even turned a blind eye to the crooked combat system. The plot is quite simple but understandable.
In general, Planet Alcatraz still deserves to be a favorite at least in the Russian gaming industry.
I recommend passing.
(P.S. Despite the above disadvantages of the game, well, damn it, the game of my youth is still the same, and therefore the maximum rating from me)
