Game kitchen cooking again! While the gameplay was fine, I was intrigued by the story. But was truly amazing was the soundtrack. OMG ! Freaking awesome!!

Played this game on release due to a sponsorship opportunity! Used a few debuffs to make the game challenging and then opted to save the last 2 Acts for stream during Hispanic Heritage Month since this game was made by Spanish devs (same devs as Blasphemous)!

Gameplay:

This game is a love letter to the Ninja Gaiden games of the NES era! Levels are short without the debuffs but challenging with the enemy variety, bosses and platforming, especially with Kumori! You play as Kenji of the Hayabusa clan and at times, Kumori, of the Black Spider Clan! Something happens in-game that binds Kenji to Kumori and you fight as Kenji while using some of Kumori's abilities! You earn buffs, powerups, abilities and even debuffs for missions just by collecting items throughout the levels and exchanging for them in the in-game store! Speaking of collecting items, one of the items you can collect throughout the levels are scrolls that unlocks secret levels for the game that offer a greater challenge before you unlock Hard mode! Managed to get a few of the endings in my first playthrough but will give Hard mode a go for the True Ending at some point! Hope Kumori and Kenji return sometime in the near future for a new Ninja Gaiden game!

Visuals:

Stated before, but this game's visuals are a love letter to the NES era of Ninja Gaiden while looking absolutely gorgeous and vibrant! On top of the art direction, the game offers a CRT filter option for those that want to play the game as if were made during the NES era while retaining its gorgeous visuals! Enemy designs are great but Kenji, Kumori and Ryu shine in this game's art style! If you're a fan of the NES era of Ninja Gaiden or of Blasphemou's visuals (same dev), then this game is a no brainer pick up!

Story:

Alluded to earlier, but in more detail (without spoilers), you play as Kenji of the Hayabusa clan, because Ryu is out doing something else during this game, and Kumori of the Black Spider Clan! Eventually, something happens in-game that binds Kenji and Kumori, with Kenji retaining his physical body but having Kumori's spirit tag along with him to stop a demon horde from fully invading Earth and potentially, helping Kumori get her spirit back into her body! The two rival ninja factions are forced to team up and learn a ton about each other along the way!

OST:

One of my favorite things about Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is its OST! Incredible from start to finish and houses a TON of memorable tracks! This is an OST you will most likely find yourself coming back to give another listen or it may even find it's way onto your regular playlist with how catchy the songs are!

Ninja Gaiden Ragebound is an incredible entry for the Ninja Gaiden franchise and for many, including myself, a great entry point into the franchise itself! This game made me want to play Ninja Gaiden Black 1, Black 2 and 3 to get ready for Ninja Gaiden 4! If you're a long time fan of Ninja Gaiden, this game is an absolute must have, and even if you're not and new to the series, it's an incredible stepping stone into one of the most storied action adventure games!/franchises! GGs to Dotemu, The Game Kitchen and Koei Tecmo on the incredible release in a jam packed 2025 that will see the release of THREE Ninja Gaiden games in a single year! Year of the Ninja, indeed!

Yahtzee could have done this. Then again it was cool how they added a way to immediately start Hard Mode earlier rather than go through the whole game on Normal. I probably would have not liked the game initially if it wasn't for that change.

Dot Emu once again with a bang game , a beautiful action retro ninja gaiden game with modern technologies made the game very very good i loved every bit of it from story to game play to visuals and soundtrack a non stop action , this game will be nominated best indie game of the year i highly doubt , i highly recommend to you guys

A very fun, modern trip back to 2d Ninja Gaiden that showcases challenge & familiarity once explored in the original NES trilogy. Both characters are fun to play as and have their own individual charm. Plenty of replay ability to try and get S ranks along with Hard mode. Anyone who is a fan of 2d action platformers should give this a play; for 2d ninja gaiden fans, this is a must play.

Foi um dos jogos mais divertidos que joguei este ano. Ele faz jus aos clássicos e aapresenta o universo para um público moderno, que anseia por algo mais casual fora do comum que é entregue hoje em dia pelas masssas dos AAA. As sprites são lindas, as músicas são maravilhosas e o jogo todo é uma delicia.

Очень красивая графически, по звукам и музыки вообще близка к шедевру. Но затянута, и задушнила жестко под конец. Вырезать часа 3 из игры, и было бы идеально для меня. Но все равно очень понравилось, достойный челендж, великолепные уровни.

Jogabilidade deliciosa, direção de arte maravilhosa e a trilha...aaaaahhh a trilha sonora. RAPAZ! Recomendo de olhos fechados.
