Mighty No. 9 is a Japanese 2D Side-scrolling Action game that takes the best elements from 8 and 16-bit classics that you know and love and transforms them with modern tech, fresh mechanics, and fan input into something fresh and amazing! You play as Beck, the 9th in a line of powerful robots, and the only one not infected by a mysterious computer virus that has caused mechanized creatures the world over to go berserk. Run, jump, blast, and transform your way through twelve stages using weapons and abilities stolen from your enemies to take down your fellow Mighty Number robots and confront the final evil that threatens the planet!

It's not a disaster, but it could use some work. Mighty No. 9 primarily disappoints in its visuals which are flat and lifeless compared to the original concept art. It also has a few questionable design decisions that could use some reworking. The experience was ultimately enjoyable, and there are definitely official mainline Mega Man games that I feel this surpasses. But it's certainly not up to the standard of some of the better entries.

This is the most fun I've had in a mega man style game, and it's not mega man. First things first: it may be "crazy" to call it a 5/5, but the gameplay is so fluid than all classic mega man titles once you understand it. Also, the dash absorption mechanic being pretty engaging overcomes the "bad" visuals because you won't focus on the background at all when dashing all the time to go faster and get those "Sprinter" bonuses. Level design is also great: It's always hard on the first time going on the level, but after clearing it once, twice, three times, you will get better and won't die there anymore. I'd say the boss fights are also very interesting because they also reward you with "Fine Play" bonuses when hitting or avoiding certain moves at the right time. I've just finished doing all S ranks with Beck and Ray (DLC) and it feels so good. All in all, it feels like it was designed for 2D Score Attackers, and I love it! Recommended!! 👍If you want a harder challenge go for the Ray DLC too, it's worth it if you liked the base game. 👍

Ehhh..you've probably played something exactly like it that you should probably play it again. The visuals are nice, and I'm prone to turn off annoying music and didn't really notice it in this one. Beat the intro and first level and had my fill, but to each their own
