I very much enjoyed this game. :)

Graphically, the game was a bit too dark. A dark red sky overcasts everything, and while there is a day & night cycle, it's always quite dark. Otherwise graphics are fine, and the game has some cool retro sci-fi neon laser lights snazzing things up sometimes.

Music is great, a very pretty soundtrack. For a kid raised on 80s & 90s action / sci-fi movies, this sounds like the music was lifted right from some of those films, and I mean that in the best of ways. When roaming the overworld the music doesn't play too often, but when it does, it is a joy to listen to. :)

Story is amazing. This game has a cliched sci-fi / action movie plot, cheesy one-liners, and over-the-top explosions. I don't know if I'd call this a love letter, but it was at least an homage to 80s & 90s plot lines. :D

Gameplay was good. I turned off all auto-aim assists so it took me a little bit to get good at shooting, but once I did I was having a lot of gun fun. :D The weapons in this game are all stereotypical: handgun, sniper, shotgun, and assault rifle, but later on more creative fare gets mixed in, like a bow & mini-gun. There's also jeeps, boats, & jet skis to drive, and hang gliders to sail through the skies with. There weren't a lot of enemy types in the game, but there were enough to be satisfying, especially considering how short the game is.

Overall, an above-average action / sci-fi game. This was also my first FarCry experience, but it likely won't be my last. :)
