The player controls a beautiful girl named Rei Hatada, who in order to “revive” her dead younger sister Mirai Hatada, makes a deal with the devil of the other world that is limbo. The story will progress as you fight the souls that drift about limbo. Also, by defeating specific enemies, “Danmatsuma Thoughts” will appear, which by “crying to purify” will develop the protagonist mentally. In accordance with that, you can obtain weapons called “Shisou,” or “Mental Armor.”

hmpf. I reaaallly want to like Crystar more. The port on Switch was very well done, the aesthetics are totally there, the mood is on point. But the endings and combat is really wearing me out too much, especial towards the end. I couldn't make the third loop, because it got too tiresome. Also, the story started so strong, the characters are tragic and well written but i feel like in the last part it lost itself too much to the point where I really don't know what it wants to tell me anymore. For the aesthetics and the vibe it may be worth a try but overall unfortunately too much of it feels outdates and the end is way too tiresome.

Das Basisspiel ist in Ordnung. Die Story ist leicht zu verstehen und die RPG-Elemente sind gut umgesetzt, aber das lineare Leveldesign führt zu langen Durchatmern. Man sollte beachten, dass in diesem Spiel auch Themen behandelt werden, die nicht unbedingt Minderjährige so erklärt bekommen sollten. Nietsche lässt grüßen.
