Costume Quest is a rollicking Adventure/Role-Playing game that unfolds on Halloween night across seemingly peaceful suburban neighborhoods, a mysterious village carnival, and a monster-infested shopping mall. Created by Double Fine's lead animator, Tasha Harris, the game follows the adventure of a group of young friends who must rid their neighborhood of monsters using only their wits, their bravery, and their home-made costumes. Players go door-to-door collecting candy, points, cards, battle stamps and quest assignments as they prepare themselves for Combat Mode — where they transform into larger-than-life versions of their costumes. Each costume that comes to life provides its own unique set of superpowers that players will need to battle Halloween's worst monsters.

Costume Quest is quirky cozy Halloween themed RPG where you have to rescue your sister and all of the candy in the neighborhood from the evil grubbins! This game is an amazing experience with tight game-play, great art-style, amazing music, and perfect dialog! The only thing i could complain about is the repetitive game-play but it is only a 4 hour game tops so it's really a nitpick. Great must play game!

There isn't much to tell about this game. It is a small indie game that takes place during Halloween and the kids dress up in costumes to go trick or treating, but somehow have a unique ability to fight in those costumes giving them powers. Your task; to track down your sister who was captured by the monsters on Halloween. Gameplay: The gameplay wasn't all that glorious, It ran with little to no issues (as it should) and the areas were pretty cool. The battles after a certain point were not that great and honestly became tedious as you got stronger as you could not really defeat anything in one hit, even with the most powerful stamps. The battle system itself was interesting. Turn based battle mechanics and every three turns you got to use your Costume's "Ultra" ability or whatever it was called which worked in certain situations and not others. The battle system was there but could have definitely used more polish. Story: The game is a short story about kids who are trick or treating in their neighborhood when your sister (or brother depending on who you pick) gets kidnapped by a group of monsters and you have to go and save them. Obviously monsters don't "exist" so any support from adults really is out the window. Visiting numerous locations and exploring them were pretty cool, but nothing to grand about them. Visuals: The game runs fine and the visuals for the style are actually pretty impressive. The combat visuals were actually the best as more care and detail were put into it. The game is pretty dark as far as locations go so sometimes you need to really watch your surroundings to find things that are "lurking" in the dark. Soundtrack: Honestly it was pretty tame but almost missable. The soundtrack was mostly there for ambience and being a small game, only has about 8 tracks across the entire game total. The combat track was the best but beyond that, there was almost no music to even bother. Closing thoughts: A game for an adult or a kid for a quick playthrough and achievement/trophy hunt. It is incredibly easy but really only good for a one time playthrough scenario. I want to play the second one though, that one is still on my list as this game did leave an impression.

A fun little Halloween game for everyone, a bit short and simple for those wanting a true RPG, but still a great fun time. Costume Quest is a Fun little Halloween Adventure that, at its core, is not trying to be something more than what it is, a cute seasonal adventure filled with charm and wit. It does lack substance in gameplay and combat but clearly its not trying to be a 100 hour plus epic. i kinda wish the industry would make more games like this for a reduced price, but sadly i dont think that will happend anytime soon.

I love this game! The writing is so funny and charming and the game play is very easy to pick up. Highly recommend for a Halloween stream!
