Bury me, my Love tells the story of Syrian refugee Nour and her husband Majd, as Nour undertakes a perilous journey to safety in Europe. Bury me, my Love is a Text Messaging Adventure game about Nour, a Syrian migrant trying to find her way to Europe. Her husband Majd, who remains behind in Syria, communicates with Nour through a messaging app, advising her as best he can so that she reaches her destination safely. “Bury me, my love” is a Syrian goodbye phrase that roughly means, “Take care, don’t even think about dying before I do.” This phrase takes on a deeper meaning as Majd says it to his wife, Nour, as she undertakes her perilous journey to reach Europe. A co-production from ARTE, the European cultural network, with The Pixel Hunt and Figs.

It's a text adventure game where you play as Majd, guiding your Syrian migrant wife, Nour, as she tries to find her way to Europe safely. You communicate with her through a messaging app, and the storyline depends on the advice you give to her. This means there are multiple endings (the game claims to have 19 potential different endings). I experienced two endings with different paths I chose. The first one was bad, but the last one was good, in my opinion. I'm not sure if there are other good or bad endings apart from the two I got. A minor thing is, there's no 'skip messages' when replaying to find another ending. This means players have to wait.. typing and sending.. from Majd or Nour.. one by one. I don't feel bad about this one but how do I say this? Not good but not bad? Additionally, for achievement hunters, super patience is a must.
