A fun, sort-of short Souls game. To be fair, in my first full playthrough I did complete the main game (all bosses) and the DLC (all bosses), but only the first full set of Chalice Dungeons (Pthumeru base chalice). This all took about HALF the time a Dark Souls entry would take me to complete. The time I did spend in this game was mostly fun, it's definitely an above-average gaming experience. Pros: Good gameplay, good music, & creative trick weapon designs. Cons: A lack of boss variety (you're mainly fighting similar hunters & beasts with slight modifications in design & attacks, which can feel samey & a bit recycled); some bosses are also a bit ridiculous, requiring you to perform the battles to near perfection in order to succeed (though, again to be fair, I didn't use a gun, which I believe the developers intend for you to use). Another con is the story, which the game doesn't have. While having some interesting lore, the game never explains why you're pursuing the pale blood (unless that detail is included in the manual). Despite the cons, the game is SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY that they're almost irrelevant, and I wish this game had more DLC. EDIT: I've since gone through all of the Chalice Dungeons completely, which definitely added to the experience, increasing play time & expanding upon unique boss encounters. Addressing story, it does make more sense after multiple playthroughs,, I just wish it wasn't so convoluted.
