Elden Ring is an action RPG developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, released in February 2022. Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, with world-building contributions from novelist George R. R. Martin, the game features an expansive open world called the Lands Between. Players assume the role of a customisable character known as the Tarnished, who must explore this world, battle formidable enemies, and seek to restore the Elden Ring to become the Elden Lord. The game builds on the challenging gameplay mechanics familiar from the Dark Souls series but introduces a more open-ended structure with vast exploration, dynamic weather, and a day-night cycle. It offers deep lore, complex characters, and an interconnected world filled with secrets, dungeons, and powerful bosses.

First ever souls-like. I love this game! The lore, the soundtrack, the visuals, everything about it. There are so many different ways to play, and with the seamless co-op mod is wonderful to play with friends! 10/10, all across the board.

I have so much to say on Elden Ring so I'll keep it as brief as I can. I was stoked that there was going to be an open world Souls game. Open world RPGs are some of my fav games along with Souls so it seemed like a no brainer. I generally play these games as a strength build and I had a TON of trouble getting to grips with this. I played this right off the back of DS3 and ran into a lot of roll catching along with the constant delays on every attack whether it be a boss or a mob. I eventually respecced into a magic build and just ez mode the rest of the game because I was not enjoying it at all. They could have made the world at least 40% smaller because the copy paste of random dungeons with a copy pasted boss just weren't necessary. Then you have major story bosses (Margit) who are copy pasted into the overworld as a tanky enemy for reasons that made no sense to me. And let's not miss Malenia. She's a really cool but absolutely disgusting boss. I've spoken to many people who share the sentiment that she is the most miserable boss to fight. She's extremely fast and every single hit she heals back. Overall in terms of platinum this is the easiest to obtain of all Soulsborne games so if that's something that interests you, go for it! I'm currently replaying Elden Ring in the hopes to change my mind and see if I have a better experience this time around but we shall see.

Dieses Game vereint alle möglichen Spielweisen von Tryhard bis Easy Mode. Elden Ring bietet eine Vielzahl an Spielweisen und eine große Open World mit vielen Interessanten Locations, um sich seine Reise durch das Tal der Finger so zu gestalten, wie man Lust hat. Ist trotz der geilen Bosse und Locations nicht mein Lieblings Teil aufgrund der Teilweise repetetiven und viel zu großen Welt allerdings hat dieser From Software Teil die absolut besten Bosse vom ganzen Franchise. BAAAAYLE!!!

It's objectively a good game. But I didn't find joy in playing it myself. I played it for 45 hours as I thought I needed to prove that I was a good gamer, until I realized that was a stupid reason to play a game for.
