Dragon Quest VI I feel is a very misunderstood title in the Dragon Quest Zenithian Trilogy. At its core, it's a game of figuring out one's self. All of the party members do soul searching and self discovery in a different ways that reflect and compliment their character. I really loved the characters aside from Nevan to be honest, but I feel like that may have been also due to my lack of using him as a party member personally and my lack of interest in his character. Party chat offers tons of quality convos from ones that help hint the player towards their story path to talking about eating a hamburger while standing in front of a cow. The world is huge and can be a touch confusing--that is truly my one and only complaint. But, its large size doesn't take away from the quality world building when taking the time to converse with the multitude of NPCs. DQVI sports both a real realm and dream realm that intertwine with each other in interesting ways all the way from one town being in one world but not in the other to seeing how the parallel towns show the characters in reality vs their dreams. I actually quite liked the class system introduced in VI as well! It is very expansive, but also quite liberating in that all characters can pick up any class they want to. I think it could be viewed very grindy as a result though. I recommend seeing what qualities each character displays best and really playing off of those when deciding your classes! :3 Overall, I personally really liked DQVI! I found it to be very engaging and I hold a lot of good memories from my time playing it!
