The Rewinder
The Rewinder is a 2D puzzle adventure game inspired by traditional Chinese folklore. The game uses pixel art to mimic the aesthetics of Chinese ink paintings. Players will get to meet mythological figures such as the Spirit Wardens, the Ox-head and Horse-face Guardians of the Beyond, and the Tudi Gong (Keeper of the Land). The player takes on the role of Qi Yun, a "rewinder" who has the ability to enter people's memories and influence their actions. By utilizing "senses" and swaying others' "intentions", he can change history.

This is a point and click-type game, with retro, side scrolling visuals. The puzzles in the game were generally easy, for the most part, and also had a good variety. A few puzzles gave me trouble with either what to do or what the controls were to do what needed to be done. The story was a murder-mystery, and it left the ending open to a sequel. I enjoyed the retro visuals and the story was good.

I really enjoyed playing through this game. I feel the story was well done, the DLC was nice to see a bit more of a glimpse into Yun's life. I appreciate that they give you an easy way to go back through parts of the game to get achievements so you do not have to replay full chapters or the entire game again. I cannot wait for the second game to continue the story!
