Tenchu: Fatal Shadows es el primer intento de From Software en esta franquicia de sigilio. Un juego construido bajo el mismo engine de Tenchu 3. Expande grandemente en mecánicas y animaciones de ejecución pero con un AI demasiado de injusto y en muchas ocasiones por lo inconsistente que eran las reglas del juego y porque los controles no eran lo suficientemente responsivos para el tipo de reacciones que exijen del jugador. En adición, la historia comienza con una buena premisa. Una trama de venganza donde a Rin: la nueva protagonista; es engañada por sus compueblanos de que la ya reconocida Ayame (de juegos anteriores) es aparentemente la asesina. Esta dinámica entre las protagonistas hubiera sido muy refrescante pero el villano en un momento se delata sin ninguna razón obvia y se pierde esa intriga inicial. Ayame pasa a segundo plano, sirviendo simplemente para atraer al jugador con una cara reconocible. En realidad no tenía mucha importancia en la narración. La historia siento que está sobre inflada de villanos y personajes secundarios que a la hora de la verdad no contribuyen mucho. En conclusión, hablando de mecánicas del juego y el AI, es super sorprendente lo mucho que expandieron. Desafortunadamente, el juego no es lo suficiente generoso como para balancear la dificultad con los problemas mecánicos que existían todavía en esa época. Habiendo dicho eso, aunque es una experiencia sumamente difícil, el juego provee una experiencia bastante variada y rica en mecánicas para experimentar y rejugar. Tenchu recibe un 7.5/10 Sonata le dió un 7/10 Completado el 16/septiembre/2024
