Thirty years prior to the story in 1959, famous artist Ichirō Mamiya hid several precious frescos in his huge mansion before he mysteriously disappeared. In the present day, a team of five documentary filmers seek to recover the paintings from the abandoned, dilapidated mansion. Upon entering, they are trapped inside by the ghost of an unknown woman, who threatens to kill all trespassers. The team decides to split up and find a way out, but the mansion is both in danger of collapsing and is occupied by countless monsters.

Story

One of the best horror games I've played, and setting the stage for horror RPGs to come. This is a very important game in a rare genre. It got a little weird with item management, and the final area is unfair if you haven't memorized it, but I had a great time with this game.

Rating: 8/10 Time: 20 hours est. Mastered on Stream: Yes The Good: Enjoyable RPG gameplay, nice horror elements, decent OST, interesting character-swapping gimmick The Bad: Frustrating endgame, some BS puzzles First time playing, this game can be considered the precursor to Resident Evil. A must play for RPG fans wanting to try a bit of history.
