Super Mario Sunshine
Super Mario Sunshine is a Mario action-adventure 3D platformer. It follows Super Mario 64, and is the second 3D Mario platformer. Gameplay features a combination of action and puzzle solving, with numerous stages and multiple episodes to each stage, and plenty of hidden secrets and surprises. This game introduced many recurring characters and bosses in the Mario series, including Toadsworth, Bowser Jr., Petey Piranha, Gooper Blooper, Piantas, Nokis, Shadow Mario, and F.L.U.D.D. Super Mario Sunshine pays homage to Mario's Italian heritage and upbringing, with many of the locations in the game having Italian names and sometimes referencing Italian culture.

Estoy con la meta de jugar todos los juegos de Mario 3D ya que nunca los juguรฉ. Super Mario 64 me encantรณ y le di un 10/10. Siento que aparte de sรบper divertido, con diversidad de niveles y controles sรบper buenos e intuitivos para ser el prototipo del platformer en 3D obviamente tenรญa unas limitaciones tรฉcnicas que faltaban resolver. En especial la cรกmara y los controles del N64 que ya de por si eran un reto por si solo jaja
Esperaba que este juego iba a resolverlos. La cรกmara mejorรณ un poco pero se nota que la forma para mitigar las quejas fue aรฑadir el waterpump. Probablemente este feature fue la razรณn por escoger el art style y setting que me encantan. Tiene un feel sรบper nostรกlgico de esa era de videojuegos. Sin embargo, algunos niveles te quitan el water pump y ahรญ puedes ver los mismos problemas que se encuentran en el 64. Adicionalmente, encuentro que la forma que organizaron los niveles, que tan pronto los terminas puedes explorar mรกs รกreas del nivel lo encuentro interesante. Siento que en algunos niveles se implementรณ mejor que en otros. Dentro de eso tambiรฉn tienes el tรญpico nivel de agarrar las monedas rojas, atrapar al Mario impostor sin ningรบn cambio aparente. Lo cual convierte la experiencia en una un poco repetitiva. Siento que tambiรฉn el 64 tenรญa mejor variedad de niveles. Algunos niveles me gustan mucho y otros honestamente los encontrรฉ medio flojo. La parte de la cascada con el monstruo en las profundidades lo encontrรฉ buenรญsimo, al igual que el primer nivel. Otros niveles como la mansiรณn los encontrรฉ un poco flojos. Y como son 7 niveles nada mรกs siento que ahรญ es donde encontrรฉ el aspecto repetitivo ya que bรกsicamente para progresar tienes que hacer โbacktrackingโ. La experiencia full me gustรณ pero honestamente esperaba mรกs y mรกs despuรฉs de lo bueno y diverso que fue el 64.
A Super Mario Sunshine le doy un 7/10.

replay (marathon); I've come to like this game more overtime, and despite loving the ideas behind it, in practice, it can feel massively underutilized and many times frustrating to play. Still better than 64 tho :P

We beat the Crowd Control SMS run!! I had a lot of fun being bullied by chat :3 Shoutout to everyone letting me skip an entire area and go to Bowser early hehe
At some point, I may go back and 100% the game with CC... but I have no concrete plans to do that at the moment.

Super Mario Sunshine! This was quite the experience, ranging from very frustrating to quite rewarding in its gameplay, when coupled with the insane achievements. SMS definitely has a high skill ceiling, and a low skill floor when it comes to the parkour and FLUDD mechanics, making it a slow burn towards mastery of the game that becomes more and more enjoyable over time. However, some achievements tested the limits of the mechanics and weren't super enjoyable, but I would say they were outnumbered by achievements that pushed the mechanics in a positive way.
All that being said, the game itself is pretty alright on its own. The 100% feels a bit pointless, especially when Blue Coins are a bit of a blemish on the game in my opinion, being overabundant and overly obscure. The stage variety also feels quite limited, and the individual episodes feel more linear compared to Mario 64. There is not much wrong with Sunshine, but it doesn't really get me itching to go back and play again, besides being able to soak in the great atmosphere of Delfino Plaza again, or maybe play a modded version of the game that might test the player's skill more.
