Spec Ops: The Line
A third-person shooter in which three American soldiers led by Capt. Walker are sent to Dubai in order to recover whoever remains of an infantry unit, the 33rd Battalion, until they decide to take action against the militants situated in the city. As they progress, however, the logistical and ethical complexity of their objective deepens, and their perception of themselves, and their enemy, is put into question.

Story telling masterpiece.
100% is rough. Takes at least three complete runs. FUBAR is wild.
Thankfully there was never any multiplayer achievements.

I'd heard good things over the years about Spec Ops. Not enough that I knew what I was getting into, but MAN this game hits you in the gut at times. I'd not played a game for stream that I felt so emotionally heavy by the end. While it's not the most amazing game I've ever played and it's not exactly a story that I'll be telling people about for the rest of my days, I still think it's worth experiencing for most gamers that are okay with the violence to consider the message being conveyed. I only finished the game a couple hours ago, so I'm still ruminating on it myself!

Spec Ops : The Line est un FPS qui franchement met ร l'amende toute les campagnes des call of ou Battlefield depuis 10 ans ! On joue le sergent Walker accompagnรฉ de deux soldats Lugo et Adam qui doivent simplement faire une mission de vรฉrification dans un Dubaรฏ dรฉtruit par la guerre. Au final on se retrouve entre les survivants, la CIA, le rรฉgiments des damnรฉs ( 33 ) qui se battent dans les reste d'une ville superbe (pour un jeu de 2012).
C'est un -trop rare- FPS ou certains de nos choix ont des consรฉquences, j'ai refait plusieurs fois certaines parties pour voir les diffรฉrentes possibilitรฉs. L'histoire est trรจs axรฉs sur la psychologie de Walker qui finalement vie trauma sur trauma.
Cotรฉs technique, c'est jolie pour un jeu de 2012, la partie gunplay est ok mais les dรฉplacement/calages au murs sont vraiment alรฉatoire.
C'est un jeu qu'on fait plus pr son histoire que pour la partie fps de mon point de vue.

Game holds up in 2025. Runs well and aims good. Story is crazy and I completely forgot about it until diving back in.

An interesting story that is not so mainstream and may surprise you. packed with some heavy action (and challenging) shooting gameplay. Played this in 2025 and it is still an interesting suggestion for a story-driven action shooter.

At first glance, it's a typical third person shooter with covers with with graphics, setting, and even gameplay. But the story is what makes this game so special. It reveals the truth about war or war operations - their cost, consequences, meaning...I give 8/10
