Überraschend gut inszeniert. Tolles Setting, komplett durchgeknallte Familie, geht in Teil 8 weiter. 👎 Lediglich die Story und das Auftreten von Umberella eh eh eh, der mutierte Schimmelpilz, sind mit Humor zu nehmen. Ich finde statt dunkle Schleimpilzwesen, hätten sie auch halb verspeiste Opfer der Familie nehmen können. DLCs finde ich erfrischend anders aber nicht gut umgesetz. More of the same. 👍Die Grafik-Engine tut was sie soll, in VR würde ich mir volles Rohr 💩in die Hose. Familie Baker ma ma ma ma, ist so herrlich durchgeknallt. Macht mir Spaß auf den achten Teil.

Overall Score : 8.7/10 PS5 Resident Evil VII was a fantastic experience . After playing through the dark age of Resident Evil ( 5,6,rev1,rev2) ,I felt how the fans did when it released in 2017 ,it felt good playing a great Resident Evil again. My rating gets boosted a little because of the DLC content,without it I would probably give it a 8.4 . The gameplay was pretty good. Gunplay felt similar with Resident Evil 2 Remake ,but since I played it on PS5 ,I felt the stiffness of each weapon due to the adaptive triggers ,which is great. The first half of the game is amazing ,with great exploration and a very memorable stalker enemy and some great fights. Garage fight was probably my favourite and one of the most fun I had in a boss fight ever,though it's kinda brief. The greenhouse fight was amazing ,but for different reasons ,it was an eerie fight and the coolest one in the game,the other boss fights are good as well,but not anything special. After that fight the game starts falling off,but not hard. It's on the ship part onwards that the downfall felt heavy in comparison to before. The ship felt too long and tired me out,but the worst was the part after that ,which was exhausting and had the worst fight in the game(the 2 plumps) . After that it gets better with the hallucinations and stuff and the final fight ,which wasn't a particularly good fight ,but it felt nice. Now one sad thing is that the game didn't scare me almost at all and I'm always striving to get scared in a horror game. One reason might be that I'm desensitized ,after so many hours of Resident Evil or that the way this game handled horror didn't affect me (hope for the latter),but the atmosphere is chef's kiss. Additionally ,I never seemed to need to avoid encounters ,the game wants me to kill everything,which feels weird to a game that's supposed to be a return to survival horror and I also never had inventory management problems. The game falls short in enemy variety,which I don't really mind,but I hoped for some different designs at least, cause one of the 4 enemy types is literally a mold nerfed leaker. Nonetheless I enjoyed the Molded design. The house level design was satisfying enough and I enjoyed that I needed multiple keys to progress, worth noting that it's funny how the granny appears every now and then. Last ,but not least ,I'll say something I don't comment on usually,but the main menu is great. The story is pretty good ,it's really interesting and unfolds well enough and never feels uninteresting. The bakers are amazing antagonists ,possibly the best written in the series. I love how each one of them feels different and one reveal regarding them was marvellous. Jack was my favourite of course and I loved a scene with him at the end telling Ethan to save his family, it was so heartbreaking seeing him like that. Marguerite was a menace and Lucas was a psycho ,they played their roles excellently . Eveline was good and I like how there are signs of her pulling the strings from the beginning. Mia was kinda whatever I didn't care that much ,though the first parts with her are intense. Ethan is a decent protagonist ,caring and relatable. Zoe was fine. Now on to the DLC content. It was honestly great ,there is such a big variety,which makes it a joy to get through. First of all the game has holes without the 2 story dlcs ''Not a Hero'' and ''End of Zoe'' ,which are essential to witness what happens to the remaining characters. Second of all there is the banned footage with different and fun gamemodes . Want something like mercenaries? I got you ,play Nightmare . Want a good puzzle ,which is harder than any puzzle in the game? I got you ,play Bedroom. Want a challenge? Cool play Ethan must die. Want to play FUCKING CARDS? Play 21 . Last ,but not least there is also the prequel episode ''Daughters'' ,which is pretty interesting as we get a glimpse of what happened in the house and how (worth noting that it has 2 endings.). Last but not least, Jack's 55th Birthday is a very fun mode, that you have to bring food to Jack. I need to talk specifically for the 2 story DLCs though. Not a Hero is an action packed dlc ,in which we play with good ol' Chris (who is unrecognisable in this game). It was a decent DLC and as far as I'm concerned a free one as well,which is nice, I like that Chris can still throw a punch. End of Zoe is the best dlc though. It's such a fun ride . We play with Joe Baker ,who is Jack's brother, who was somehow unaware of everything happening for the last...3 years..? Joe is a fricking boxer and you get to punch the Molded out of existence . The first bossfight is like a boxing match and holy shi that was peak, the Swamp Man(the boss) dropkicks ,which is hilarious. The whole boss room is like a boxing ring and I love everything about it. It's great how there are combos in the way Joe fights. Later it's revealed that Swampman is Jack ,which doesn't make much sense ,but I don't mind it a lot and the final fight with him is epic as well. Finally it was good to see Ethan calling Zoe at the end. All in all, Resident Evil 7 is a fantastic game ,with amazing DLC content. I definitely recommend it ,especially the Gold Edition ,cause it's worth it and it's probably the reason I like this game more than Code Veronica.

I played this in VR. I had trouble sleeping for a while idk why I did that to myself. But man what an experience. Incredible game.

Scary game, overall sad family story, but really fun to play and get into this sick shit. This game makes me want to play more Resident Evil games
