The biohazard threat has not ended: Just when it seemed that the menace of Resident Evil had been destroyed, along comes a new terror to send shivers down players' spines. Chris Redfield, returning Resident Evil hero, has followed the path of the evil literally around the globe. After joining a new organization, Chris heads to Africa where the latest bioterrorism threat is literally transforming the people and animals of the city into mindless, maddened creatures. He is joined by a new partner, Sheva Alomar, who lends her strength, intelligence and sharp-shooting skills to the mission. In order to survive, Chris and Sheva must work together to take on the challenges of discovering the truth behind this evil plot. Utilizing a revolutionary new 2-player co-op mode of gameplay, players assume control of either Chris or Sheva and experience Resident Evil in new ways. In Resident Evil 5, Capcom has players fearing the daylight as much as they have feared shadow in previous games.

Este juego me trae demasiados recuerdos, lo jugue con amigos mayormente. Para mi, uno de los mejores Resident Evil, sin contar que el villano de villanos termina su historia aqui.
I played this game by myself for my first playthrough in anticipation for RE9! Played the Remastered version I think? Whichever is the version on the Xbox One/PS4!
Gameplay:
This game's VERY fun, even by yourself. While you have two protags, very much like RE0, you don't have to control both! While the AI companion can sometimes take some needed ammunition and herbs, I didn't mind it much and you can always request Sheva or Chris (whichever is the other character you're not controlling) to trade for the items that you actually need or hold onto things that you can't carry. My only gripe with this game is a bit with how spongy some bosses can be and how long they can take to go down, especially on solo. Thankfully, that's mitigated by being able to buy different grenade launcher ammo and first aid sprays! I do wish that you were able to buy ammo for other weapons in the shop but that's alright.
Story:
You play as Chris Redfield of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance and are accompanied by Sheva Alomar, also of the same organization. Hot on the heels of an investigation regarding some strange occurrences in Africa, Chris and Sheva find themselves in the midst of an outbreak that has Umbrella's doing all over it along with another organization that they least expected. Also of note, Chris is also trying to find a co-worked of his and unit partner, Jill Valentine, who went missing in action while investigating one of the Spencer Mansions that they eventually found out was where Albert Wesker was at the time. However, they find out that Wesker has enhanced himself somehow and before he can land a killing strike on Chris, Jill saves him by throwing herself along with Wesker out the window towards the cliffs. Without spoiling the rest, its a pretty straightforward story and feels satisfying once it's all said and done! The DLCs for this game add more to the story, notably the prequel DLC that leads up to the events of how Jill, Chris and Wesker's encounter at Spencer Mansion! The other DLC entails another event that occurs in the game and just shows a different perspective of that event, which was really nice since you can play as another titular and fan favorite RE character!
Visuals:
The Remastered version had decent visuals for what it is. Some areas stood out way better compared to other areas for me personally! Overall, I liked the game's art direction and visuals for the environment! The art direction REALLY shines with the designs for Sheva Alomar, Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker and Jill Valentine (to an extent for me)! I do hope Capcom brings back Sheva for another RE game, because she was great and her design was incredibly well done!
OST:
A lot of great tracks from this game! Not on the level of og RE2 or even RE1 Remake (Gamecube) but still a very solid and fun OST with some standout tracks! Great to listen outside of the game and especially great while going for another replay of this game!
While I did not get to play the mercenaries mode for this game and do plan on doing so at some point, due to time constraints for RE9's upcoming release in a few weeks, this game was very fun overall! The last few bosses were a bit of a pain but I acknowledge that was mostly to playing it solo and having to manage a bit more than needed, which I can live with! This game is up there amongst my fave RE games, only after og RE2 and Rev 1! Onto Rev 2 and RE6 now, both first playthroughs!
Beat this game multiple times from the 360 to remaster, i still never beat the dlc and will livestream the hardest difficulty when it comes time
(also prolly need to edit the ratings/score)

Mi RE favorito de siempre, lo jugarΓa mil veces mΓ‘s
This is probably the worst Resident Evil game I've played. It tries to copy and paste what worked so well in Resident Evil 4 and fails miserably. They constantly throw you into chaotic combat, the companion AI is terrible and the story is whatever. The only saving grace was playing this with a friend and having a laugh through it all.
This was the worst installment in the franchise. The graphics were disappointing, and Sheva was really annoying!
The AI partner ruined the game for me, but I bet it will be better if I replay with a friend.
