Overall score : 7.2/10 Steam Deck Easily the worst generation,but not a bad game. Gameplay is typical Pokemon ,they added some challenges to the gyms which were nice ,but they dropped the ball later on,the team yell town could be so cool if they wanted to ,but it was the most underwhelming area. Dynamax is kinda ass honestly ,though there are a few Gigantamax that are cool ,like Charizard's. The starters kinda suck ,I especially hated the one I chose ,so I dropped it when it got in its final form and got a shiny Charizard:P. Some animations also felt like a downgrade compared to the previous generation,namely I can think of brave bird and discharge. Nobody plays Pokemon for the story ,but come on they didn't even try in this one. It was so uninteresting and the eternatus "arc" was basically an afterthought. The characters are terrible for the most part Hop is an ass rival and pretty tiring ngl. Marie was nice ,but I mean still boring. I liked Klara ,even though she didn't have much screentime she felt like she brought some personality in the game. In general the 2 dlcs brought to this extremely bland game some personality,but they were pretty short. All in all, this is easily the worst Pokemon game I've played ,I didn't even bother to catch the Sword legendary,as it's post game and I really wasn't interested in that Goofy mini post game storyline. I wouldn't recommend this game unless you are a big fan of the series.

GRAFICA:7 SONORO:8 GIOCABILITA':8/9 LONGEVITA':9 TRAMA:8 EMOZIONE:8/9 +Pokèmon è sempre pokèmon +La nuova gen mi è piaciuta in linea di massima +Storia spensierata come i primi giochi -Tecnicamente molto al di sotto degli standard di Switch -Online sempre arretrato -Nient'altro Pokèmon Scudo e spada sono l'ennesimo gioco-droga della serie dei Game Freak. Arrivano su Switch(in realtà erano già arrivati con i remake di Pokèmon giallo) con l'ottava generazione che già dai leak è stata presa di mira e contestata dai più fan(e vari hater gratuiti) per via del look dei nuovi pokèmon considerato scadente. Come al solito, mi sono tenuto volutamente lontanissimo da rumor e giudizi anticipati privi di senso fino all'uscita del gioco: la mia scelta è ricaduta su Spada. Ambientato nella fittizia regione di Galar, la quale scimiotta allegramente la piovosa Inghilterra, Pokèmon Spada ripristina la classica sfida delle 8 palestre+Lega che era stata tolta negli ultimi Sole/Luna e Ultrasole/Ultraluna ed il risultato è da subito più nostalgico ed in linea con i primi Pokèmon anzichè con gli ultimi. La storia del gioco è la più semplice mai vista assieme a quella di Rosso/blu/giallo ed ha fatto imprecare quasi tutti i fan tranne il sottoscritto che ha preferito la spensieratezza ed immediatezza della sfida alle palestre invece che strane cospirazioni volte sempre al savataggio del mondo a cura del protagonista e della forza dell'amicizia. Lo dico senza mezzi termini: Spada è un pokèmon divertente per chi ama il competitivo( nel post-game ci si può sbizzarrire come sempre col breeding) e per chi ama i giochi dei pokèmon da gustare magari parallelamente ad altri titoli più complessi. In pratica chi si aspetta di giocare ad un grande JRPG resterà davvero deluso a questo giro. Anche il lato tecnico è deludente: si tratta di un gioco palesemente lavorato su 3DS ed esportato con l'aumento della risoluzione su Switch: un passo indietro persino a Let'go Pikachu/Eevee. Almeno le ambientazioni sono varie e carine. Ah giusto a me i nuovi pokèmon di questa generazione piacciono per la maggiore, poi i bruttarelli ci sono a sto giro come sempre. Non ho più tempo da dedicare ai giochi dei pokèmon come una volta, anzi forse ora più che mai sento il bisogno di un salto in avanti qualitativo da parte della serie per continuare ad essere appetibile anche per un vecchio lupo di Pokèmon come me. Pokèmon Spada/scudo sono meglio di Sole/Luna ma il cammino per l'innalzamento della qualità della serie è ancora lungo.

I had this game when it was released but I was playing other games also but when Legends Arceus released I played about in hour of it so I can get the bonus content on Legends: Arceus, But I decided to get into it fully and beaten the main story and the DLC this game was good I haven't played a new gen Pokemon since Let's Go Eevee.

The story is uninspired; I mean, it's not what I pick Pokemon up for but man literal bare bones on this one even for Pokemon's light standards. Literally go circles around the region with no evil team to even spice things up. No, Marnies' fat goons don't count. Marnies' brother is pretty cool tho. They streamline training Pokemon for competitive purposes though.

Gigantamaxing is the lamest gimmick so far in the series. They should have just stuck with Mega-Evolution and expanded on it. Out of all the mechanics they've introduced in the new 3D era of Pokemon, Mega Evolution has always felt like the proper step forward. Z-moves are cool too and I liked the games that contained the combination of the two. This though... it's stupid. And I know the next games, Scarlet & Violet, have an even weirder gimmick that I'm not currently interested in either but I'll save that for when I get to it. The world map was nice. The rival always takes a loss like he just buries his frustration deep down and will eventually lose his shit in what I can only imagine will be an incredibly comedic manner in the future. The titular legendaries are just okay. "Dog with a sword in it's mouth" honestly sounds like a stupid design for this series and is something that would fit better in Digimon (a series I love more). Shield legendary looked decent at least as it's design actually had the shield incorporated into it rather than stupidly holding it somewhere. Nothing about this game really stuck out. Villain was lame. The big bad legendary at the end didn't leave any sort of impact. The whole experience was as lukewarm as it gets. 5 or 6 out of 10. DLC EXPANSIONS: The DLC expansions on their own are an 8 out of 10 and felt much more like the experience I wanted going into this. I'm probably very biased, but I love hunting down the legendary Pokemon no matter which game it is, and that's exactly what the expansion gave me but in a more engaging way. The DLC brings the overall score up and is the most memorable experience of the game. Without the DLC this game would be incredibly forgettable.
