Onimusha: Warlords is an epic saga of 16th century Japan inspired by the battle scenes of famed Japanese director Akira Kurosawa. It takes place in a world of darkness and magic when power hungry warlords battle for control of Feudal Japan. One brave Samurai, Samanosuke Akechi, boldly volunteers to rescue the kidnapped princess Yuki, but does not fully realize the desperation of this mission. An entire legion of demon warriors stands between him and his mission to avenge the princess.

Resident Evil but slicey
After tackle back to back RE games (RE7 & Village) I had an itch to start visiting/revisiting old Capcom games. This was the start of "Time Machine Tuesday", where we'd jump in a time machine and travel to the past and explore games of old and new (to me at least π ). Onimusha: Warlords still holds up to this day and comes highly recommended to Capcom fans that haven't experienced this franchise yet!

Tank controls were the style at the time, but I find them extra frustrating a game like this which would otherwise have some pretty dynamic melee combat.
On its face, though, a very fun and good ideaβa samurai Resident Evil, basicallyβand I never grew bored or regretted playing it. Never followed up with any of the sequels, however.
Unforgetable experience. I played on PS2 and when i played it on PC was like the first time. Amazing
Onimusha: Warlords makes up for its short length with tense and satisfying combat against a multitude of demonic beasts, along with its masterful blend of the Resident Evil formula.
The Onimusha series was great!
