Firewatch is a single-player first-person video game where you, as a man named Henry, explore the Wyoming wilderness after taking a summer job as a fire lookout. What is supposed to be a peaceful respite from your complicated life takes a turn when you start to question some of the things that are happening to you. Your only human connection is over a handheld radio, which you’ll use to speak with your supervisor Delilah about the things both of you are experiencing.

Game Review: Firewatch ⭐ 6/10 Firewatch sets out to be a thoughtful, story-driven adventure through the Wyoming wilderness — a peaceful escape filled with mystery, sunsets, and quiet reflection. At least, that’s the idea. In practice? It’s more like getting lost in the woods with a chatty stranger and a compass that seems to mock you. The story is good — heartfelt, emotional, and occasionally haunting. You can tell a lot of care went into the writing, and there are moments that genuinely hit hard. But the gameplay… oof. Calling it a “walking simulator” feels almost generous when half your time is spent trying to figure out where you’re even walking to. The navigation feels clunky, and every wrong turn adds another layer to the slow-brewing headache this game gave me. Visually, the game isn’t bad — it just feels dated. The forests are fine, but not breathtaking. The real beauty shows up at night, when the stars spill across the sky and you get that brief, perfect “wow” moment. It’s almost enough to make you forget how frustrated you are. Almost. And then there’s Delilah — your constant radio companion. At first, her banter brings a little warmth to the quiet, but she doesn’t know when to stop. She talks, vents, overshares, and keeps going long after you’ve mentally checked out. Combine that with the stillness of the forest and the dragging pace, and it’s a recipe for major mental overload. By the time the credits rolled, I felt relieved — not because of closure, but because I could finally rest my brain. Firewatch has a touching story buried under long walks, endless chatter, and a silence that feels more draining than peaceful. I’m glad I finished it… but I don’t think I’ll be taking another hike anytime soon.

A friend recommended this game, and she was so right to. This is a pretty unique game. It is a walking simulator but with a very immersive story, which can be difficult to find. As well as being immersive, it is also visually stunning making the exploring parts rewarding. I also really enjoyed the story, including the ending. Amazing game.

Jogão mano, é aquele tipo de jogo indie que tu vai jogar sem esperança nenhuma mas na hora dos créditos do jogo tu fica sentado apenas apreciando aquilo que você jogou. Joguem esse jogo se tiverem oportunidade sério.

Ein so wunderbares Spiel mit einer schon gleich zu Beginn tragischen Geschichte, die aber dann im Spiel von den Dialogen zwischen dem Hauptcharakter Henry und Delilah so wunderbar aufgelockert werden. Ich könnte den beiden stundenlang zuhören. Ansonsten mag ich die Grafik sehr gerne, die mich ein wenig an einem meiner Lieblingsspiele Road 96 erinnert, aber nicht nur das erinnert ein wenig an dem Game. Der ganze Vibe ist hier schon sehr ähnlich. Ja, ich hab fast überall volle Punktzahl vergeben, bis auf dem Soundtrack. Da hätte es ruhig öfters Musik geben können, oder auch Musik im Pausenmenü. Es ist also eine sehr wenig eingesetzte Musik, was nicht schlecht ist, aber sie wirkt auch sehr beliebig die Musik. Nur der Abspann-Song ist da etwas, was mehr Nachhall hat. Doch trotz der Minuspunkte bei der Musik kann ich das Spiel sehr empfehlen! Es ist wahrhaftig ein großartiges Game.

It is one of those games which should be there for us. Just 4-5 hours of good story without much of a gameplay, but with the story which is closer to some novel. It left a feeling that I basically read the book, but also took a part in it :)

Que jogo maravilhoso, céus, visuais muito bonitos, enredo super top, só não curti muito a jogabilidade de escalar visto que ou dava um bug sinistro ou não dava para clicar direito. E também é pena não haver uma tradução oficial para um jogo tão bom.

If you haven't played this game yet, it's a MUST! Firewatch is a beautiful open-world style story game where you get to live a humble life working in a beautiful park. A great introduction to cosy story games for those who haven't played one before, if this doesn't get you hooked I don't know what will!🧡
