A first-person exploratory game taking place in 1995 in which Katie, a university student back from Europe, arrives at her family's newly inherited mansion only to find nobody there, with a note from her younger sister Sam suggesting that she's left home. Katie must explore the mansion to put together the stories of where her parents have gone and why Sam has decided to leave.

A great atmospheric walking simulator that keeps you exploring. This was the first "walking simulator" type game I played and it made me fall in love with the genre. My play time includes two playthroughs as I did a second to gather the rest of the achievements (apart from the speedrun one). I really recommend this to people who like just wandering around a large house!
A ambientação desse jogo é maravilhosa, a todos momento você acha que vai tomar um jumpscare.
Побегать по дому было прикольно. Сюжет(если это сюжет) просто забей.
Мне не зашло, худшее из инди проектов которые я проходил
Gone Home is perhaps best known as the oft-maligned "walking simulator" that kickstarted the entire genre of all the slop that followed. But placing Gone Home into that category with all the other barely interactive agenda-driven garbage is a bit disingenuous because in this case the creators weren't following a trend, they had set out to tell a story. And boy, did they ever.
I guess Gone Home really isn't a "game" so much as it is an interactive experience. You cannot lose in Gone Home, you're just largely along for the ride and what you get out of this title is what you put in by whether or not you're willing to put in the legwork exploring the entire house to piece together not just the game's main story, but the entire additional subplot.
It's 1992. You arrive "home" from a trip to Europe very early in the AM hours. While you were gone, your family moved across town into a large mansion that was inherited from a relative who passed away. Your younger sister is missing, and your parents aren't there either. No one is home. The mansion is sprawling but Gone Home is laid out in such a way where it guides you through a relatively direct path all over the house feeding you pieces of the story as you go. The main storyline here is what happened to your sister, but if you're attentive you can figure out where mom and dad went too.
This is not a horror game. It has a creepy atmosphere because you're alone in a massive house during a thunderstorm, but there's no gore or death or jump scares or anything of the sort. I won't spoil how this game ends, because I really do like the story, but this is perhaps one of exceedingly few examples of an LGBT story done right. It doesn't pander. It doesn't beat you over the head with bullshit to check as many diversity boxes as possible. This game was created BEFORE all of that nonsense bled into contemporary gaming. Gone Home has one very pivotal story to tell, and it executes it perfectly.
When I played this game on Gatorbox I was prepared to just shit talk it and make fun of it because at the time a lot of people were clowning on it with the whole "walking simulator" thing. But in actuality? I really liked this game. What started as a feature to lampoon this non-game turned into something bigger. Gone Home has since seen repeat features on Gatorbox as part of our Extra Life speedrun marathons. It is featured in our list of the 100 best games of all time, it's that good.

Great little game with exploring and good story. It's fun, fast and there's a lesson there. I loved it for what it was.

Interesting. Weird sort of ending as is usual for Indie, however could have used a bit more. Really short game but kept me interested the whole stream.

Ein bisschen viel Lesen und dafür ein bisschen zu wenig aktives Gameplay.

spooky vibes but seemingly wholesome game... we accidentally found the end of the game early...
Cause Shad0w suggested it after the LiS series to help with the post LiS depression... and apparently its not a horror game despite how it looks according to him and Elvish... we will be paying attention O.O
