Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles

Was too young when I first tried to play this to appreciate or understand it. So happy my re-introduction was through the Ivalice Chronicles. Gosh darn it if it isn't more relevant than ever. Gameplay is entertaining too.

A fantastic rendition of a classic from the '90s. It, of course, suffers from the problem that many of the games from its genre has, which is that there really isn't an incentive to have more than one core party with jobs that change to suit your needs.

A fantastic update of the original! Expect a challenge on Tactician difficulty, if you grind out levels the game adjusts for it.
Some of the War of the Lions content was not added in for this edition and thats ok by me.

An improvement on the original Final Fantasy Tactics in every way possible. If you enjoy turn-based strategy JRPGs, this is a MUST PLAY.

Originally released in 1997, Final Fantasy Tactics has been re-released a number of times across a number of platforms, most notable the "War of the Lions" version - which I own on my phone.
This is a game I have played and replayed since my early youth on the original PlayStation. I still have the Prima Guide.
This version, now available on PC, features a fully voiced cast and ever-so-slightly tweaked and updated features, such as the turn order display and ability to undo movement to avoid mis-clicks.
Though most of the War of the Lions content is not included, much to the chagrin of myself and some fans, the developers did add stories to the unlockable books that can be discovered as part of doing Errands. To be clear, these are long, pointless and irrelevant to the story and generally a waste of time that have no associated achievement and can safely be skipped.
Regardless, it is a masterpiece of gameplay and storytelling with themes that resonate even now.

I've tried to start WotL on iOS multiple times, but it always felt like a game that deserved to be played on a much larger screen. Now, I have the opportunity to finally play this on the screen it deserves.
