Buck Up and Drive is an indie game that combines racing and fighting elements, offering an engaging experience initially. You are mainly engaged in an endless drive, avoiding traffic, drifting, and occasionally kicking other cars off the road, similar to classic arcade brawlers. The controls are responsive, and there is a certain satisfaction in chaining combos and increasing your score, complemented by a pixel art style that provides a nostalgic feel without overstatement.

After several runs, however, the gameplay begins to feel repetitive. The procedurally generated levels are serviceable, but they lack significant variety, leading to recurring patterns of enemies and obstacles. The humor, with its absurd scenarios like mid-air combat, adds some charm but can become tiresome when the game’s focus on high scores is the main point. Additional game modes or a narrative could have added more depth, but the current design feels like a short, standalone experiment.

Overall, it is suitable for quick, casual play sessions for those interested in straightforward arcade action, though it does not introduce new or innovative mechanics. Rating: 3 stars

For my birthday stream yesterday I speedran 25 games in one sitting! I'm so proud of myself 😍 It took me 12h49min! Practiced each game in span of last month. Got 3 PBs in total which is amazing! Every run went very well which surprised me a lot. The mystery game at the end was Buck Up And Drive! and bonus was Ape Out by the way.

Vehicular combat never felt this much a kids' birthday party that serves Red Bull. I love it.
