Like to play this if i want to play VR, it´s relaxing
Beat Saber is always advertised as a killer VR app, but with many rhythm VR games I previously only dabbled in a few normal songs, never bothering to become proficient or try to explore a bunch of modded tracks or latter songs which throw an overwhelming amount of mechanics. But one day I decided I should try out the campaign and see if that was any fun.
I really liked how the campaign ramps up the difficulty, covering a song you’ve already played once or twice at a lower difficulty but now harder or with an extra modifier. Some of them were hard, like no miss and disappearing arrows, but some were dumb fun, like max hit streak (if you do too well you fail) or one saber mode: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/O7JiCSPitpU .
There were two points where I had to grind out my technique to get through the levels. The first time was my slicing; I wasn’t cutting cleaning enough to meet one of the score requirements. I tried a couple different forms to figure out how to maximize without need to completely change how I play, and I could barely get some of the score requirements with exaggerated grandpa swings.
The other point happened a bit later, and it involved when a sequence of notes requires going up and down repeatedly, too quick to plan for each note individually. So I found my technique that gets the timing down mostly for those sets of notes, although it falters when I have to do an angled back and forth in a far lane.
The campaign goes through mainly songs from the first two albums, which features a good variety of synth, but only 3 and a half good songs. Escape, Unlimited Power, and Be There For You are those 3, with Commercial Pumping and Country Rounds maybe filling that half slot. This is on par for most of the other VR rhythm games to start, with the constant bangers coming in via DLC or modding. I was just spoiled by the high quality selection Just Dance offered of “every good song from the radio for the past 50 years”.
I’m happy to say I not only I 100%ed the campaign, but I did so by slowly getting confident enough to practice and complete expert songs, and having a lot of fun in the process. This will definitely slot into the Impossible Game category of replaying a few songs twice a year for fun, as I’m not aiming for any higher aspirations or mastery of additional songs.
I got the VR to play a whole bunch of games on it but once I bought and played Beat Saber I found myself playing it and only it ever since.
I've heard there are other good vr games out there but this one has claimed top spot for me.
It's a good workout and has good music. I had a great time!

Для меня эта игра вполне себе успещно заменяет кардио тренировки 😀

Mod this to Oblivion and it becomes a 6 Star Game! Only thing annoying me is the prices of the official DLC.
The gold standard of VR rhythm games for a reason
