A game with an artstyle and cutscnes that stand on their own, I loved the different combat system that was DDR/Guitarr hero styled, just wished for a "Easy" difficulty where I had one line instead of the three choices it came with (autopass, two or four). One line would work better for me, either one active at a time or just one at all. I struggled with the two sides a lot. The dialogue became long and dense eventually, it felt like filler text. Nice puzzles, some a bit to hard and not to be able to go back and redo them on a fail sucked.

Pretty fun puzzle and rhythm game. Little Norse mythology sprinkled in there. Keep and eye out for Ikol

Atone was a great experience! I liked the spin on the traditional Norse mythology and how the characters played into the story, I feel like the game did a great job at creating and playing out the themes of grief, self-confidence, and religious contexts like Atheism. The art-style and look of the game is flawlessly done and the environments are designed to feel so massive despite the game not being open world. You can really feel the world go beyond the screen you're on. The gameplay and music of course are where this rhythm game excel. The puzzles were plenty and well-crafted, I'd even say too well crafted. The puzzles started off great, but quickly got quite difficult because math and obtuse symbols. The hint system could have done a better job, sometimes it flat out gave me the answer, other times it did nothing to help me except give me more questions. Despite this, I didn't feel cheated by them, just stupid. The music and combat f*cking slapped, I stg. The battles were fairly easy, I played on normal, but towards the end they got quite challenging. I had to fight the final boss a handful of times to get it just right. The progression of the story was evenly paced, and there were a few side missions and puzzles I did, I'm pretty sure I did all of them so 5.5/6 hours is the time to beat. Besides my gripes with the puzzles, the game was a blast to play, and my chat had a fun time helping me with puzzles, and we were all gripped by the story. I would love to go back and try hard-mode!
