2nd ever playthrough. Crushing Difficulty for the trophy
SCORE: 4.5/5
Story:
Chloe Frazer is teaming up with Nadine Ross to get the Tusk Of Ganesh, a holy Indian artifact that is about to be taken by warmonger Asav. Together they follow clues throughout India, a constant race against the enemy.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story telling in this game and loved the development between Chloe and Nadine.. and another character further into the game :)
I think this was the first time a Uncharted game took place in only one country.
Visuals:
The Lost Legacy is absolutely STUNNING. And no I am talking about the ladies, not ONLY, at least. The graphics are amazing, facial expression and cutscenes are great and authentic. The game is from 2017 and looks better than most newer titles.
Audio:
As always, Naughty Dog really delivers with the audio. Great environmental sounds, absolute PEAK voice acting. They sound SO natural, you forget it's acted.
Gameplay:
Just like Uncharted 4, this one felt VERY smooth. Climbing and shooting, puzzles and races, it offers a lot of variety that is balanced very well, which kept it entertaining and engaging for me! The puzzles in this one were really cool and diverse.
I still hated the brutes with their tanky armor and their mini-guns or shotguns, especially in big areas when surrounded by dozens of enemies. UGh. They just freak me out :D
Enjoyment:
I loved it. I cursed at some points, when I had to fight overwhelming forces of enemies at once or Chloe's controls didn't respond as I intended and that got me killed, but I had a great time. Another roller-coaster of emotions with Uncharted!
Difficulty:
Just like the previous games, playing on Normal really does what it says, a medium challenge. Most parts relatively easy, some encounters a bit more challenging.
Audience:
Perfectly fine for teenagers and above :)
Grind:
Didn't feel grindy, but just as before, I didn't try to get all the treasures. You can unlock something handy, but no spoilers :)
Bugs:
I didn't encounter any in this game!
Replayability:
You can replay chapters to hunt down those elusive treasures or restart the game in a whole new difficulty to aim for platinum, but as usual, the story remains the same.
How did YOU like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy?
This game is very similar to Uncharted 4 in how it plays. It utilizes the same stealth mechanics, the piton to reach ledges that are too high, etc. Nate and Elena might be retired living life with their daughter now, but that doesn't mean there isn't excitement to be found with other characters in this franchise.....
Lost Legacy puts us in the shoes of Chloe from Uncharted 2 and Nadine from the 4th game joins us as our ally! There's a 3rd ally that joins later, but I won't spoil that here. Chloe moves a lot more swiftly than Nate with her attacks, but they both control virtually the same.
I played this on crushing difficulty for the trophy, much like I did with Uncharted 4. Part of me had hoped the devs learned from how hard the encounters were in 4, and nerfed them (if even slightly). But instead, they doubled down on it 🤣. Remember how you couldn't mark enemies or see their stealth meter? The problem happens here too, AND there are some encounters that have you dealing with vehicles. Good luck evading those if you get caught, it is NOT easy. I eventually did beat the game, and you wanna know the best part? I didn't even get the trophy 🤬. For some reason, the game didn't track that I beat chapter 7 on crushing even though I NEVER changed the difficulty. Ah well, I don't need verification from a 10+ year old console that I suffered anyway 😁.
Overall, none of this hindered my enjoyment. It's still a solid entry into the Uncharted series, and worth checking out if you can. I'll leave you with a funny glitch I encountered in the last chapter of the game (check media)
