The UAC relocated their experiments to one of the moons of Jupiter. A spaceship, mistaken for a supply vessel, was granted access. But when it got close to the base, demons poured out. All your comrades were slaughtered or zombified. This time it's not about survival. It's about revenge. A remaster of TNT: Evilution made in the KEX Engine, community-published mod support, original midi soundtrack or the modern IDKFA version by Andrew Hulshult, improved performance with multithreaded rendering, BOOM source compatibility, accessibility options and translated into eight new languages.

TNT: Evilution starts off pretty strong, to the point that it's significantly better than the game its based on - Doom II - for a pretty large amount of its runtime. This isn't the majority of its runtime, unfortunately, and later levels range from bad to boring, with a few genuinely fun ones sprinkled in. I'm not sure if TNT: Evilution ever reaches the lows of Doom II, but it definitely has a higher quantity of bad maps, and almost all of its maps are far too large, vastly outstaying their welcome. While some of the original music tracks are really good - and it's great that there's original tracks at all - there's one or two that are genuinely terrible, and repetitive to the point that I muted my game audio. In terms of actual level design and enemy placement, I'm not sure if TNT: Evilution is that significantly worse than Doom II, but Doom II introduced both the Super Shotgun and some well-needed enemy variety to the series. I think it's worth playing through the first half of this, but suffering through the second isn't really worth it, despite the few diamonds in the rough.
