The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is the first Zelda game for the Nintendo GameCube and also the first in the series to employ cel-shading, a lighting and texturing technique that results in the game having a cartoon-like appearance. Like its predecessors, The Wind Waker is an action game with puzzle-solving and light role-playing elements. Basic gameplay mechanics are similar to those found in Ocarina of Time, but it differentiates itself with its massive Great Sea which must be explored using a boat named King of Red Lions.

Another Wind Waker playthrough, but this time I'm streaming.
Wind Waker still is a masterpiece game with the art style, storyline and wonderful soundtrack. Still holds up great after so many years, but I know some people find the Gamecube version of the triforce quest tedious... I don't mind it as it gives the sense of adventure as you cruise around looking for the shards near the end of the game.
I will say after playing the Wii U version, I missed the fast sail so much and forgot how great it is. Faster speed and no need to change the wind whenever you use the faster sail.
Anyway back to talking more Zelda... It takes place in a world where the legendary hero disappeared and our brave Link takes on the role of a hero as he braves storms, volcanoes, forests and more, in order to rescue his sister.
This game is great for subtle moments like Link's facial expressions and his voice as you hear him say "come on" when you get to call allies.
Honestly playing this again has made me realise we need more games relying on the old Zelda formula or a remaster of Oracle of Ages/Seasons.
I'll finish this off by saying this is a game you should play in your lifetime!

We played through the game twice, with the first being 100% Completion and achievements, the second being a casual speedrun at 3 Hearts & 1 Bottle.
There is still a lot to love about The Wind Waker, and I really do adore so much about it. The artstyle still holds up to this day, the music is a feast for the ears, and the story offers a simple but developed plotline that connects to many other games in the series. Some of its finer mechanical details have aged a bit poorly, especially compared to WW HD, but it's hard to find many other open worlds as charming and captivating as The Wind Waker from as far back as 2003.

The other of two Zelda games I beat and by far my personal favorite (even with Dragon Roost Island).
