While I acknowledge that this game would likely have impressed me at the time of its release, it does not hold up well -- in my opinion. The controls are clunky and the animations are tediously slow. The dialogue is long-winded and the plot perhaps unnecessarily complex. All that could be forgiven, I supposed had it not been for the many glitches which made some clues all but impossible to detect and in some cases crashed the game. If you choose to purchase this game, be sure to save frequently!
Despite the game's many issues, I do see a lot of promise in the series and I enjoyed it enough to give some of the newer games a go. All-in-all, not a great game, but not a terrible game either.
