Shadow Labyrinth Review - My First Impressions
Shadow Labyrinth is a pretty fun Metroidvania that hits you with a wave of Pac-Man nostalgia - like a trip back to the good old days, but with a reminder that you're grown now, so get your shit together because this game is not easy. 😤
The aesthetic is cute but dark, which I love. The story is surprisingly interesting too - the whole dark Pac-Man theme and turning into a mecha robo as your ultimate form? Sick. Plus, turning into a tiny baby Pac-Man for platforming sections is hilarious and super creative.
Boss fights really took me back - cool designs and fun mechanics that made me feel like a kid again, just like with Donkey Kong Country. That same pure excitement hit me.
This is my first Metroidvania and I think I’m in love. It’s refreshing, full of variety, doesn’t get boring, and I honestly can’t stop thinking about it. I haven’t finished it yet, but I’ll definitely be back as soon as I can.
(not finished game = can't give 5 full stars)
8 hours
