Paper Mario: Master Quest is a kaizo-like ROM hack that adds many new elements to the original game. Expanded world map, jumbled up areas, new and harder enemies, new badges, scarcity of items, prices of items, and new/harder boss fights. All in all, it's paper mario but 10x harder. All in all, fun game with great new things, but the difficulty spike hits in chapter 5 and only gets harder from there. I would recommend just playing master quest jr instead. All of the same game adjustments, just lower difficulty enemies. Finished on 05.14.2025

Whimsical little game. Might have aged the least out of any N64 game. Really inventive battle system. The version that I played via the Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Switch Online app has some small issues, including major slowdown during one of the major boss fights, but is still a convenient way to play. It's really nice to play one of the N64s best games on the go.

This was sick, a lot harder than I thought! The only things holding this back is that the story just doesn't quite leave a lasting mark on you. Coming after Mario RPG this is especially noticeable. Still, worth a play by anyone at any time.

Heavy nostalgia for this game but it's still a fairly solid kids RPG. The story book visuals carry this game hard.
