The "sisters" get their long-awaited star role in this genuine Neptunia series spin-off! The four younger sisters rise up to take back their share of the portable games market stolen by the mysterious smartphone called "MagiPhone." The character models that decorate game scenes are all-new, and the characters are cuter than ever! In addition to a battle system that combines action and strategy, the familiar "Goddess Transformations" and "EXE Drive" systems return, allowing players to enjoy dynamic battles. Utilize strategy to seize victory with the sisters!

Not sure if I defeated all enemies or not... I went through the Neptra Tower which seemed like the main attraction for superbosses but the whole thing was just ridiculously easy so there may be some secret superboss somewhere. I didn't look it up, I may come back to the game later to check it out, but honestly I don't really care because the battle system didn't interest me that much in such a concept. The game has some fun ideas and the soundtrack kind of cheats by using a bunch of the best of the older songs from the franchise it seems, but if that's what it takes to get a top score, so be it. I always say game franchises should be willing to reuse good songs, and that's just what they did. Unfortunately it means the soundtrack for the game isn't worth purchasing(because it only has the new songs and not the entire roster of songs that came with the game) but oh well, lots of DLC is bait when it comes to games, not the end of the world. Anyway, the animations were super good here and we were once again able to move around and resize the cosmetics etcetera, similar to what we had in Blanc VS Zombies, but with a different UI for it. I didn't dislike anything in particular about the combat but a lot of the combinations of decisions they made just made the experience overall not very enjoyable. An easy example is how low of HP the enemies have so the in-battle conversation doesn't play out to the full. Each of those 2 combat design decision on their own aren't bad, but combining them will make a disaster. The dungeon progression wasn't all that good, it wasn't terrible, it just felt kind of tedious. Could have been a lot worse, but it really made me miss the gameplay from Ninja Wars. As seems to be typical of these games, the character balance isn't the greatest. Although I will admit it gets better when you access Neptra Tower, but by then there isn't anything really worth using all these fancy new weapons on. Although the various weapons are simple + stats mods, with little variation on that front(somtimes they give defense, sometimes they give speed for example), at least there are a decent number of them and you can look at the different design choices for those weapons, which is kind of fun I suppose. Some of the weapons look super rad, so the half a point lost in visuals was rather due to one of the dungeons not looking all that great IMO. For whatever it's worth, the playtime is bloated for I was spending a lot of that time just enjoying the music and not playing the game, so I don't know how much time I really spent playing the game. But anyway, the dungeon progression itself was one of the biggest time sinks the game has, and it wasn't really all that interesting aside from how neat it is to look at your characters moving around and to listen to them chatter away which gets old eventually.
