"Inspector Schmidt - A Bavarian Tale" is a third-person detective RPG, set in rural Bavaria in 1866. As the young Medical student Valentin Schmidt you will travel to Wolpertshofen in order to write a report of the peoples' living situation for the King, when a sudden death causes turmoil in the small Bavarian village.

Wir befinden uns im Jahre 1866 und reisen als Physikatsberichtersteller ins beschauliche bayrische Dorf Wolpertshofen. Angekommen müssen wir feststellen, dass das Dorf aufgrund einer Diebesbande sowie eines Mordes in Aufruhr befindet. Da der Dorfpolizist sich gerade im Urlaub befindet, bieten wir an, den Mordfall aufzulösen. Durch gezielte Dialoge, logisches Denken und etwas Würfelglück kommen wir der Aufklärung immer näher. Dabei glänzt das Spiel durch die ein oder andere humorvollen Nebenquest und der vermutlich besten Kampfmusik, die es je in einem Spiel gab. Als anständiger Bayer erhöht man seine Konzentration mit der ein oder anderen Breze. Auch das Bier wird hier nicht zu kurz kommen. Insgesamt ist das Spiel nicht sehr komplex und hilft einem schon immer sehr zeitig. Für den Preis definitiv ein gutes Spiel, welches man gerne spielen sollte, sofern man etwas mit dem Genre anfangen kann.
