Really felt like more of the same. It was still fun, gameplay and character stories were fun. It really feels like the devs all have massive revenge boners. Half the characters in the game are revenge-driven, the other half are trying to stop them from revenging. It's weird in a game where you get the 'Soul Cannon' as a gameplay mechanic you aren't allowed to use it to get the good ending. So now in the second game, where the requirement was too steep they give you the 'Managarm' I still didn't use it... so both games I just didn't use the big gun. It's like watching Sora only use keyblades in cutscenes... eh. Anyway, still got through it!
