I'm a HUGE Ace Attorney fan, however this game kind of missed the mark for me? I'll admit, starting this game I came in with way too much hype. The community really holds the investigations games in a very high regard, so that bias going in largely affected me. Investigations is not a game without its flaws but at its core? It's still ACE ATTORNEY! This game's premise hooked me in from the get go, but I was skeptical. Unlike most people Edgey-Edge is not one of my favorite characters but I've always appreciated his growth and how he's changed over time. Seeing his resolve. I will straight up say I didn't feel it too much this game. This game has some fun cameos of characters from prior games, those moments carried their cases. The first case, third case, and fourth case were mostly a drag for me. I can excuse the first case because I was still getting used to the new format of playing as Edgeworth and his unique mechanics. It also teases us with a possible overarching narrative, so I bite and sit up. From the get go, I could tell that the testimony piece of the game wasn't going to be as enjoyable as the investigations, which is the opposite of how I feel about the regular Ace Attorney games. Despite that, the game manages to pull you in and explore the world in a little more detail since you can walk around. That creates a surprising amount of world building for some of the locations we visit, and makes the investigations feel more tangible. The testimonies fail because the stakes are lower, and most of the dialogue in these just doesn't feel as engaging. The character lack the same depth and personality, especially the villains. They lack the same emotional range. The soundtrack is also usually one of my favorite parts, and this game just didn't have much for memorable tracks except for one or two to me. I played this game right after binging Ace Attorney Trials & Tribulations, and that game was a perfect 9/10 game (had only one ok case, and it was still fun enough.) This game's second case was a blast! I loved the interesting setting and thought it was perfect for this game's format. That excitement was short lived as it was followed by what I think is so far the second worst case in the series. Case 3 was a DISASTER. It dragged ON and ON and ONNNNN. The murder was uninteresting, the set up was lacking, at least I could feel for some of the characters, but it just missed the mark for me. That followed by Case 4? I couldn't finish case 4 for the longest time because of how bored I felt. The case itself wasn't the issue, it was the setup and the pacing. It just felt like a bloated case that could've been much shorter and more to the point. Luckily, case 5 was a great case. I enjoyed it all the way through until the last bit of back and forth testimony. Even though that was dragged out, I think it made the case memorable because it felt it could justify the dragging due to the character writing. Overall, a game with some fun cases, but I will not be revisiting.

Creo que cada protagonista de Ace Attorney necesita a su pequeña sidekick con pocas neuronas y mucha energía!

A little weird pacing at the end and it doesn't compare to the AA-Series but i loved the new playstyle as well as the gorgeous music. Artworks in the AA:ME:I collection look very nice as well. The story was great though, the German localization very funny.

Not as great for me since this game mostly shifts over to logic and investigating and less so the court side of things. Soundtrack still awesome though!

Still holds up the quality, despite being a spin-off
