So much better than the first game in many ways! I honestly was sad when the main campaign ended because I just wanted more. Currently going through the other missions with some friends but I need a Space Marine 3 game eventually.

We played the campaign and some operations. It was a good game! I really don’t know why we stopped playing it β€” I think it was because we found the combat a bit repetitive. But the combat was also soooooo good! I felt like I was 10 years old and playing an action game for the first time.

Wanted to wait to post my thoughts on this game until AFTER I completed a few matches of Strategems and Seige to get a better idea of this game at it's full potential and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Gameplay: This is where this game truly shines for someone new coming into this game and franchise! The game does an incredible job of throwing you into the shoes of a Space UltraMarine and you can feel just how powerful these super soldiers are from their stature and gait alone, especially when these Space Marines stand near an ordinary person! The game's parry and dodge system feels easy to use and rewarding to master, notably when your Space Marine can pull of a marked shot after a successful parry or dodge! The most impressive part of this game is that while you are an extremely powerful character, a walking organic Metal Gear, basically, you can get overwhelmed and humbled QUICKLY by the Tyranids and other factions in this game! When this game throws enemies at you, it THROWS a SWARM of enemies that can make you feel like you're truly fighting for your life and even fighting for a chance to even get some breathing room! However, when you and your Brothers can survive the onslaught, it feels like a relief with you yourself feeling like a badass afterwards knowing that The Emperor protected you throughout! If you're a fan of Gears of War, this game will scratch that itch, which is the background I came from prior to playing this game! The enemy factions in this game are truly terrifying in the best way possible! This game in the Strategem and Seige gamemodes are where it's at along with multiplayer! Visuals: Beauty and destruction go hand in hand in this game! This game's visuals are lush and vibrant while emphasizing the the gore and destruction that are a common thing in this universe! The devs did an incredible job of making effects and colors pop while blending it with the morbid reality of war on top of the grand, striking, gothic architecture that fill the landscapes when you're not navigating the forests, jungles or even industrial/sewer areas! Story: You step into the shoes of Titus, a Space Marine who severed in the Deathwatch. You fight to the death against a swarm of Tyranid only to find yourself brought back because The Emperor willed it so. This game takes place after the first Space Marine game, so for Space Marine lore reasons, it's good to play the first game or at least go back to play the 1st Space Marine game to get a better understanding of Titus and the game's lore! If this is your first Space Marine game like it was for me, it's still not a bad starting point due to how incredible the gameplay is! As you rejoin a unit, your new Brothers find you (Titus) suspicious. Titus, and his unit despite all this, prove to one another their comradery while truly earning the right to call each other Brothers in arms! Again, if you played Gears of War, this will scratch that itch and draw a smile on your face! Brothers til the end! Soundtrack: This is the one area where I think the game could've been a bit better. While not a bad thing, this game's OST feels mostly atmospheric and serves as something to listen to in the background. From my whole time playing, for me personally, I don't recall many tracks that stood out to me in my playthrough, as opposed to another title I finished recently, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, that had a ton of memorable tracks throughout its OST! To be fair, with so much action going on and trying to fight to even get some breathing room in this game, I don't think I really gave this OST a proper listen and may up this portion after sitting down and listening to its OST without the chaos of the fight! I HIGHLY recommend this game for how addicting its gameplay is and for really making you feel like the storied badass that are the Space Marines! Every fight against the Tyranid and Chaos Space Marines feels like a rush and leaves you wanting more with your fellow Brothers that will have your back, for the Emperor protects! This game has made me want to go back and play Space Marine 1 to know more of Titus's story, the universe and mostly to be even more hyped for when Space Marine 3 is revealed and announced! GGs Saber and Focus Entertainment! GGs Warhammer 40K on a BANGER of an entry!

It's a wee bit jank, but really hits the spot if you want to play as a hulking, powerful W40k Space Marine. The combat is satisfying, the story is good, and you can customize a marine and play co-op missions or pvp if you want some interaction with other players.
