When I picked this game up, I didn't realise it was a spin off from What Remains of Edith Finch which follows one of the characters based in WRoEF. I've since played that game and it has made me enjoy the game even more.

The beginning of the game had me sold immediately, as you start in a completely white world where you need to throw black paint to find your path. It was very cathartic throwing the paint around and slowly building the world around you up. I loved this mechanic so much that I spent literal hours on all sorts of platforms trying to figure out how to do the achievement "Minimalist", where you have to complete the first world using 3 or less paint balls. I eventually "gave up" but returned some years later when a friend was also doing the achievement and I finally managed to beat it. It was so satisfying to do in the end.

I really enjoyed the rest of the game too, particularly the storybook theme throughout, but the first level was a particular highlight for me.

La mécanique initiale est vraiment très très sympa, avec des niveaux assez divergents et inégaux en termes de satisfaction... Le 2e chapitre est un peu long et lourd... Mais je recommande pour un petit jeu rapide !

A beautiful game that builds itself as you play. From delightful visuals to a deep and touching story, this game have left a mark on me that will make me revisit it in the future to see how my perception has changed. Every solution to a puzzle brought delight to my inner child.
