Quite short, just for one evening. It's basically a collection of logic puzzles. There are no items, you need nothing from the other rooms for any puzzle. Your progression isn't justified in any way. And the puzzles have no relation to the context. A couple of them are no-brainers, some are tricky. Most are quite interesting. (NB! Few puzzles have random start, and I'm sure the RNG can make at least one unsolvable.)

It's still just as good as it was when it released originally in 1993. There's not much gameplay apart from moving around Stauf's mansion and interacting with the various puzzles, and some of them kind be kind of finicky, especially the music room puzzle. Maybe it's nostalgia, or being alive to see the impact The 7th Guest had on PC gaming, but I still highly recommend anyone play through this if they're interested in gaming in the MS-DOS era.
