My first full experience with a game in the Mana series besides the little time I spent on Legend of Mana as a kid. Lost interest in this game about halfway through so I finished it off stream. The overall experience felt very mid. Story stopped being compelling not long after the vampire mansion and it meandered and dragged in several places. Apparently, the original was a shorter and more concise experience so hopefully I'll like it more when I get around to playing it. AI partners were useless. The first thing I saw them do was walk against a wall constantly and they only just kept dying through the rest of the playthrough. The menu is also incredibly tedious. It's presented beautifully like the rest of the game, but the novelty wears off quickly. The purpose of weapon wheels like this is to speed up gameplay. This did not. At least the music was fun.

For me this is one of my favourite Mana games. Largely due to nostalgia and this one being what I had for on the go but the story is great, the crafting was amazing for back then on the go. It's just great.
