Gameplay is great, but the anime plot is bad.

As of writing this review, I've beaten the entire base game on normal difficulty. One thing to note is that I've rated it higher than my actual enjoyment (don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it) because I'm not a very hardcore bullet hell fan. This is an excellent game for metroidvania/bullet hell fans that love a difficult challenge. For everyone else, it can be very frustrating (maybe not if you play on easy, but but I refuse to go easy mode).
The gameplay is where this game shines. It has a VERY high skill ceiling, and tons of difficult achievements to unlock. More casual players can still have fun, but you have to be able to persevere through the pain.
The story is pretty meh unless you absolutely love slice of life stuff with some lewdness. It has a few interesting points, but I don't think they're fully explored in the base game (Maybe in the DLC?). Btw this game has a few official 4koma comics, I find them hilarious. My little war criminal can't be this cute.
The visuals are great, but the devs might need a bonk. It's a very charming pixel chibi style game, with some regular anime-style text cutscenes.
The music is great, it's got some real jams.
Overall great game, story is a bit weak but everything else is very good.

Es simplemente hollow knight si fuese dificil bueno y cute π
A MEATY metroidvania with bullethell elements. The game is WAY longer than I ever thought it would be, and there is tons of bonus content that I never even touched. The horny-ness of it gets annoying and the main sidekick character is an annoying little shitcunt, but I still had constant fun with this game.
I didn't think i'd like bullethell but i do
Que no te engaΓ±e la temΓ‘tica que se presenta, es uno de los mejores metroidvania (con un toque de bullet hell) que he probado nunca.
I bought this game years ago. I started it and dropped it. My laptop died in the meantime and it wasn't until last year that I tried to use the laptop I'd been given in exchange (barely able to play any games) for gaming- Rabi-Ribi was one of the games I tried. I am glad I did. Having played Touhou Project and loving that series (and its world/characters), there were so many things that immediately clicked with me. I'm also very fond of rabbits, so Erina was immediately a character I enjoyed. And sure, fanservice ahoy with the way most characters are dressed, but that's something that didn't bother me, since it was mostly just the dresses and not something thrown in your face the whole time and constantly reminded. The story left me shocked as it truly caught me off guard more and more. The "first ending", when you end the initial arc (the longest) and deal with what was introduced right at the start of the game was okay, nothing too crazy, aside a couple things that linked very well with how Gensokyo operates in Touhou Project (I won't give too many details to not give too many spoilers)- however, once you deal with the first arc and get to the "after ending", things just explode. The boss fights are turned up like crazy (with one being my absolute favorite to play), the music kicks in even harder, the complexity of the gameplay shines, and the story goes even further beyond. By the time you get to the true ending, the "Is the order a DLC" DLC one, I truly had no words left. I think it left me with some of the most intense feelings ever. The music, the patterns, the story, the boss, the gameplay... everything joins together to make things an experience. One I'll never forget. I got into Rabi-Ribi thinking it'd be some silly game, I came out with a deep l love for a game I'll keep on playing over and over, especially with the new Cocoa mode (which I finished, too). Can't wait for the next game to see if the story will progress (considering Cocoa will be there, meaning it should be the same world, only, I guess, years later). I sure hope so because boy did this leave me wanting a Touhou Project-like series for this. I need a franchise out of Rabi-Ribi.
