Looking back, I still love this game enough to want to replay it. Modded versions of Emerald makes it hard to start playing my physical copy I bought recently though :( Nostalga plays a huge part here tbh

Pokemon Emerald is a true classic adding depth to a simple formula from catching pokemon and training them up to become the champion someday. Distractions truely circulates with berry collecting, contest entries and rematch system in pokenav that comes midway part through the game as the game yearns for deeper exploration under the ocean. Truely a must play game for the pokemon fans and gamers all around.
