Revisit the Sinnoh region and the story of the Pokémon Diamond Version game Experience the nostalgic story from the Pokémon Diamond Version game in a reimagined adventure, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, now on the Nintendo Switch system! Adventures in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond game will take place in the familiar Sinnoh region. Rich in nature and with mighty Mount Coronet at its heart, Sinnoh is a land of many myths passed down through the ages. You’ll choose either Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup to be your first partner Pokémon and then set off on your journey to become the Champion of the Pokémon League. Along the way, you’ll be able to encounter the Legendary Pokémon Dialga. Adventure together with the Pokémon that appeared in the Pokémon Diamond Version game. Players of the original games can revisit familiar places and relive familiar scenes, while first time players can enjoy plenty of fun encounters and surprises that the Sinnoh region has to offer. The original story and the scale of the Sinnoh region’s towns and routes have been faithfully reproduced. This remake has also been revitalized with some of the player-friendly features of modern Pokémon games and up-close-and-personal Pokémon battle scenes. Whether you played Pokémon Diamond Version or Pokémon Pearl Version back in the day or you’re encountering these games for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Played this as a subathon game. Was still fun even 20 years later. Would play again.

I'll be real. I really liked the Chibi style they went for in this game. Yeah, it cements that Pokemon is for kids, but that's fine. The style of this Chibi felt more true to Pokemon in exploration. Game felt smooth as butter. Wish they ported the Battle Frontier from Platinum.

Since the moment the Diamond and Pearl remakes were announced, and even moreso while playing this game, I kept thinking to myself that this should have just been a remake of Platinum instead. I never played the original Diamond and Pearl games and only ever played Platinum. The story was much more interesting in it and the inclusion of the distortion world, while short, was incredible and immersive. Sad to say, the Platinum content is lacking in these remakes, minus a few stunted inclusions/references. Why the third games are never remade is something I will never understand. They were much more memorable and engaging in both terms of content and story. Platinum saw all 3 legendaries involved, and the appearance of Giratina rising from the shadows to drag Cyrus to the distortion world that I still get chills thinking about to this day. Emerald should have gotten a remake as well as the conflict between Kyogre and Groudon could have been greatly expanded upon even with Rayquaza coming down to end it. Most of this review is talking about things this game doesn't have lol. It's a neat remake of the original 2 entries, but definitely not what I wanted at all. Content is lacking compared to Platinum and it feels like it could have been so much more. I couldn't even be bothered to go collect the post-game legendaries. I stopped right after the Pokemon League. It's just a straight remake. Nothing else.

I enjoy the Pokemon games, and I found myself having a good time with this one, but it wasn't anything special.
